The Winne/Bellinger farm has been in the same family since 1804. The orchard originated in 1930 by Furman and Mildred Bellinger, parents of Harold, Kenneth, Beverly, and Thomas.
Thomas and his wife Betty bought the farm from his parents in 1963, and at that time decided to plant more trees and start the pick-your-own operation, which was one of the first of its kind in the area. Since 1998, the family has been continuously planting many of the newer varieties of apples along with other fruit trees.
Today, there are well over 50 varieties of apples and many varieties of peaches, nectarines, pears, plums, blueberries, sweet and tart cherries grown which can be found in our farm stand, along with other local NYS products.
Thomas passed away February 2022. Tom loved his orchard and enjoyed being on the cutting edge of the apple industry. He was extremely proud and would spend countless hours working to keep it looking nice. He looked forward to visiting with many of the customers during the season.
Currently, the orchard is run by the 3rd generation, Linda and Ken, along with some help from the 4th generation, sons Ian and Joshua! It will be business as usual; and, we have many exciting plans for the near future!
